Jacqueline V. Mattern, 60, of 1192 Vosler Road, Volant, PA, died the evening of April 22, 2010 in Jameson Hospital.Born May 4, 1949 in Natrona Heights, PA, she was a daughter of the late Stanley J. and Jean E. Remy Lorence, Sr. She married Robert Mattern on September 25, 2004. She was a 1967 graduate of Richland High School. Jacqueline was employed with the Mailing Services of Pittsburgh where she worked in production traffic of the quality control department for twenty five years. She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables and watching and feeding birds. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a teen leader with the AWANA program, a trustee, and active with the social committee and JOY Missionary Ladies.In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Darryl Lawther of Volant, PA and Mark and Sonya Mattern of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Stanley J. Lorence Jr. and his wife Pam of Valencia, PA; one sister, Yvonne V. Roberts and her husband Howard of Volant; her former husband, Robert Lawther; two step grandchildren, Gabriel and Sterling Mattern; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Lawther; and one brother, David Lorence.Visitation will be held Monday, April 26, 2010, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA and also prior to the service on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, from 10-11 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church.
