James E. Bintrim, 93, of New Castle, passed away the morning of December 4, 2015 at his residence. Born April 9, 1922 in New Castle, he was the son of Fred and Ethel Hoover Bintrim. He was preceded in passing on January 8, 2011 by his wife, Florence H. Chambers Bintrim, whom he married July 2, 1943.
James was a member of the Carpenters Union #206, for over 65 years. He supervised numerous large construction projects throughout the Tri-State area.
Mr. Bintrim was a passionate farmer and exhibitor of sheep and steers at the Lawrence County Fair. James most enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and life time friend Ranier Devido at the family pond.
Mr. Bintrim attended Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Leslie Bintrim, and Judy Drake, both of New Castle, and Betsy Ratvasky of Edinburg, PA.; six sons, Thomas, William, Larry "Joe", Robert, Richard, and Scott Bintrim all of New Castle; one sister, Helen Perdue of New Castle; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earnest, Herbert, and George Bintrim; and two sisters, Anna Futata, and Edice Bartberger.
Services will be held privately at the request of the family.
Burial will be at Castle View Gardens.
