James G. "Jim" Boalick, 88, of 2750 Old Plank Road, New Castle, passed away the evening of December 30, 2013 at Jameson Hospital. Born January 20, 1925 in New Castle, he was a son of Aaron and Bessie Goodchild Boalick. He was preceded in death on April 6, 2009 by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Brooks Boalick, whom he married in January of 1949. He was a New Castle High School graduate and served his country in the U.S.Army during WWII as an ambulance driver and medic. Jim retired in 1983 from Rockwell Spring Works where he was employed in the personnel department. Among his many interest were golfing, fishing and woodworking. Prior to his membership at Epworth Methodist Church, he was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He is survived by three daughters, Barbara Kelliher of Chicago, IL, Patti (George) Gregg and Nancy (Terry) Caldwell all of New Castle; one son, Bob (Debbi) Boalick of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Boalick; and two sisters, Doris Byers and Myrell Wellman. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Thursday, January 2, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Thomas R.
