James Floy Boyer, 73, of 272 Conestoga Trail, Pulaski, PA departed this life on October 14, 2010 at Northside Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.Mr. Boyer was born May 30, 1937 in Ford City, PA, he was a son of Raymond Walter and Gladys Anna (Altman) Boyer. He is survived by his wife, the former Martha B. (Beers) Boyer whom he married January 19, 1957. Mr. Boyer graduated from Kittanning High School in 1955. He worked at U.S. Steel Corporation, Youngstown, OH and retired from Schwebel's Bakery, Youngstown, OH in 1996. Mr. Boyer was a member of New Bedford Presbyterian Church for 44 years where he had served as an Elder. He was a volunteer fireman and EMT in Pulaski Township for many years. Mr. Boyer loved spending time with his family as well as traveling, camping, hunting and being outdoors in the woods. He had a great send of humor and kindness to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.In addition to his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Martha, he leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah L. (Boyer) Okular and Theodore L. Okular of Lowellville, OH, Darla S. (Boyer) Hanna and Brian M. Hanna of Pulaski, PA. He also leaves two granddaughters: Aimee S. Hanna and her fiance, Tracy Taylor of Nashville, TN and Colbie L. Okular of Cincinnati, OH; and three grandsons: Dennis B. Hanna and Jaclyn Hanna of New Castle, Douglas S. Hanna of Pulaski and Christopher T. Okular and Jackie Okular of Campbell, OH. He also leaves one great grandson, Dylan James Okular (his namesake) and 3 great-granddaughters, Alexandra Mae Hanna, Madelyn Irene Hanna and Katelynn Elizabeth Okular. He is survived by 6 brothers: Raymond D. Boyer of New Bethlehem, PA, Allen E. Boyer of Edinburg, PA, Ray N. Boyer, David L. Boyer, Gerald A. Boyer and Perry W. Boyer, all of Pulaski, PA,; and two sisters: Delores McCurdy of New Wilmington, PA and Barbara Pawlak of New Castle, PA.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary E. Stewart and Janice M. Lewis and two brothers: Wayne R. Boyer and Gary L. Boyer.Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at the New Bedford Presbyterian Church.A service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at church. The Rev. Douglas Runyan will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, New Bedford.Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bedford Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland Dr., POB 225, New Bedford, PA 16140.
