James T. Campbell, 88, of Warren, Ohio, formerly of New Castle, passed away the night of October 23, 2019 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
Born February 10, 1931 in New Castle, he was the son of Earl E. and Bess (McCullough) Campbell.
A 1949 graduate of New Castle High School, he also attended Penn State University. In September of 1949 he entered the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict as a Staff Sergeant.
Mr. Campbell was employed at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio for 26 years as a production supervisor until his retirement in 1991.
He was a former member of the Elks Club in Holiday Isles, Florida. Jim was an avid reader and a Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He was of Lutheran faith.
He is survived by one daughter, Barrie (David) Mitrovka of Warren, Ohio; one son, Thomas (Rebecca) Campbell of Westerville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Lee (Christina) Campbell, Kasey Campbell, Carly Campbell, Lindsay Mitrovka and her significant other, Jacob Charniga; and three great-grandchildren, Reese Campbell, Reagan Campbell and Brooklyn Charniga.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jane Campbell.
A one hour visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
