James P. Cross, age 69, of New Castle, passed away the late evening of July 1, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born March 3, 1955, in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Robert C. and Francis (Van Tuil) Cross.

He married Lori (Kirsch) Cross. She survives at home.

James worked as a civil engineer, employed by Baker Engineering, for several years. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time in the outdoors. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. James attended Northminster Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife and mother, James is survived by one daughter, Katherine F. Cross of San Diego, CA; one son, Charles Cross of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother John Cross of New Castle, PA; and three grandchildren, Paul, Nico, and Jude Cross.

James was preceded in death by his father.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
