James P. DeAngio, age 86, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of January 28, 2023, after a brief admittance to Edison Manor.

Born September 19, 1936, in Mercer, PA, he was the son of Peter and Theresa (Zambino) DeAngio.

He was preceded in death on April 13, 2005, by his wife of 46 years, JoAnne (Kemp) DeAngio, whom he married July 5, 1958.

After his graduation from Mercer High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army.

Mr. DeAngio tended bar for many years in various establishments and after retirement, was employed as a driver and greeter at Preston Motors.

He was an avid Steelers fan and attended St. Camillus Church, Holy Spirit Parrish.

Jim is survived by many good friends he obtained over the years.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew DeAngio in 1993, 1 brother, David DeAngio and one sister, Connie Eves.

There will be a one-hour visitation Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following at 6:00, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
