James Edward "Eddie" Conway, 82, of New Castle, passed away the evening of July 8, 2021, at Quality Life Services. Eddie was born on March 27, 1939, in New Castle, the son of James William and Mary Emily (Shutts) Conway. He married Cara (Richards) Conway on October 23, 1993, whom survives at home. Eddie was a graduate of Shenango High School. He was employed with Ellwood Quality Steel as a hot metal crane man for over 18 years. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Nashville, gardening and was a Mason. Along with his wife, Cara, he is survived by one son, James E. Conway, Jr; one daughter, Deborah Clark of New Castle; two stepsons, Earl (Jennifer) Silvis and Christopher Silvis both of New Castle; one stepdaughter, Kay (William) Troutman of New Castle; two grandchildren, Jared Clark and Brianna Clark; four step-grandchildren, Nicholus Silvis, Dianna Troutman, Cody Troutman, and Sarah Book; and one great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 13 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor William Rupert officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
