James D. Emery, age 68, of Edinburg, PA, passed the morning of Dec. 16, 2023, at UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Born Nov. 8, 1955, in New Castle, he was the son of the late James R. and Doris (Daugherty) Emery.

On April 28, 1978, he married his beloved wife of 45 years, Terri (Hardy) Emery, who was his best friend and soulmate. They were most often together traveling and playing with grandkids.

James was employed by Bruce Manfield Power Plant for 44 years, where he joked that he 'played power plant' for a living. He started out as a 'B' man and worked his way up to a supervisor. James loved life. He enjoyed hunting, riding his BMW motorcycle and four wheelers, working, tinkering in the garage, cooking and gardening. What gave him the most joy in life was spending time with his family. He was a member of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and on the Administration Committee.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by one daughter, Jaime L. (Ben) Petro of Kalispell, MT; son Jacob D. 'Jake' (Lillian) Emery of Pulaski, PA; two sisters, Cathy Fombelle, and Cindy Thompson; five grandchildren, Jude, Titus and Lucy Petro, and Ruth and Remi Emery; and several nieces and nephews; as well as great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thurs. Dec. 21st from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland Drive, Pulaski, PA 16143.

A funeral service will take place, at the church, on Thurs. at 6:00 PM with Pastor Dan Muttart officiating.

Memorial contributions may be offered to New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland Drive, Pulaski, PA 16143, a future playground project, in his honor, at the church.
