James 'Jim' T. Eslick, age 73, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Jan. 1, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born April 21, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, he was the son of the late James and Patricia (Russell) Eslick.

On June 4, 1983, he married his beloved wife of 40 years, Joann M. (Daylida) Eslick. She survives at home.

Jim proudly served his county in the United States Army. He worked as an Associate Pastor for First Brethren Church and then went on to work as an associate employed by Pep Boys. Jim was a very spiritual man and had a strong Christian faith. He enjoyed Tai Chi and meditating. He also loved spending time with his family and his faithful dog, "Carter".

Along with his wife, Jim is survived by one son, Jonathan Eslick of New Castle, PA; one daughter, Juliann (Sean) Kirzyc of New Castle, PA; one brother, Rick Eslick of Beaver Falls, PA; three sisters, Elaine Eslick of VA, Jeannette Eslick of Paris, KY, and Patricia Eslick of VA; and one grandson, Zachary.

Visitation will be held on Fri. Jan. 5th from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place, immediately following visitation at 6:00 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating and the New Castle Honor Guard performing Military Rites.

Burial will be at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
