James F. Geddis, 81, of New Castle, passed away the evening of November 5, 2015 at Jameson Hospital.
Born October 18, 1934 in New Castle, he was a son of James F. and Wilda Seaton Geddis.
He was preceded in death on March 15, 2010 by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie L. Taylor Geddis, whom he married September 18, 1971.
A 1952 graduate of New Castle High School, James served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany.
He was employed with Penn Power Company where he worked as a lineman and in the meter department.
He was a member of the Elks Club and the Masons.
Among his many interests, James enjoyed watching boxing and Notre Dame football. He often listened to classic 50's music, liked making pizzelles and waffles, but most importantly enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be missed by his beloved cat, Becky.
He is survived by one step-daughter and her husband, Kaye and Mohammed Blaik of New Castle; a step-son James Reese, Jr. of Temecula, Calif; two sisters, Patty (Bob) Salmen of New Castle; one half-sister Emily "Rainbow" Cross of West Palm Beach, Fla; a sister-in-law Barbara Klenotic of New Castle; three grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin) Allsopp, Salah Blaik and Rashid Blaik; three great-grandchildren, Colton, Jackson and Nolan Allsopp; one nephew, Robert Salmen; one niece, Maureen Salmen; a great niece, Brittney (Josh) Miller and their children, Eliza and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
In keeping with James' wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
