James A. Harding, Jr., age 86, of Edinburg, passed away the evening of Feb. 18, 2022, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell, PA.
Born Aug. 23, 1935, in Wampum, PA, he was the son of the late James A. and Alice R. (Kumrow) Harding.
On Sept. 28, 1963, he married his beloved wife of 44 years, Dorothy J. (McKeown) Harding. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2008.
James served in the U. S. Army. He was a graduate of the New Castle School of Trades where he studied to be an electrician. For several years, James was employed at Rockwell International and more recently at Fab Art, as a laborer. He enjoyed gardening and farming. He was a life member of the Coachman's Club. James attended St. John's Lutheran Church. What gave James the most joy in life, was the time he spent with his family.
James is survived by his two daughters, Lois R. Harding of New Castle, PA, and Sally J. (Jeremiah) Withers of West Middlesex, PA; two sons, James W. (Yumi) Harding of New Castle, PA, and David S. (Kris) Harding of Enon Valley, PA; one brother, Edward Harding of Enon Valley, PA; two sisters, Linda Tufaro of Poland, OH, and Delores Burscak of Mt. Vernon, OH; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thurs. Feb. 24th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A service will take place at the funeral home on Fri. Feb. 25th, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Brian Warner officiating.
Burial will be at Castleview Memorial Gardens, alongside his wife.
