James R. Marshall, Jr., 75, of New Wilmington, passed away the morning of February 2, 2017 at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell.
Born April 15, 1941 in North Jackson, Ohio, he was the son of James R. Marshall, Sr. and Mildred I. Buck Marshall.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Mrus Marshall, whom he married July 22, 1967.
A graduate of North Jackson High School and Liberty Home Bible College, he attended Youngstown State University where he received his degree in Computer Drafting.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy in Jacksonville and San Diego.
Jim was formerly employed with U.S.Steel , the City Rescue Mission, and was a self-employed Architect.
Jim always enjoyed being outdoors, doing yard work. He also liked woodworking, music, watching television and being on his computer.
Jim loved being a part of New Life Baptist Church and its many activities.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Lori Marshall of New Wilmington and Eric and Wendy Marshall of Modesto, Calif; one brother, Fred Marshall of Youngstown, OH; one sister, Alice Marshall of Youngstown, OH; and three grandchildren, Brandon Marshall, Camryn Marshall and Erica Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Huffman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with his son, Pastor Greg Marshall, officiating.
