James 'Jim' L. Patton, age 83, of New Castle, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the late afternoon of July 16, 2024, at his residence.

Born April 24, 1941, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late W. Kenneth and Louise (Munnel) Patton.

On May 14, 1960, he married his beloved wife of 61 years, Linda J. (Reynolds) Patton. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2021.

Jim was a graduate of New Castle High School. For over forty years, he was employed by Penn Power as a maintenance technician, as well as Russell Trucking and Golf Cart Supply, as a truck driver. Jim was the former Supervisor and Auditor for Hickory Township. He enjoyed model trains, working on his Gravely tractor and spending time with his family. Jim loved attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events, as he was affectionately known as 'Choo Choo Pap'.

Survivors include one son, David (Susan) Patton of New Castle, PA; one daughter, Jodi (Dennis) Drake of Volant, PA; a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Patton of New Castle, PA; six grandchildren, Kylee (Jake) Buls of Pittsburgh, PA, Ashlee (Will) Purcell of New Castle, PA, Allison (Caleb) Pritchard of Hubbard, OH, Hannah (Jake) Wright of Volant, PA, and Will and Sam Patton, both of New Castle, PA; and one great-granddaughter Kenna.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by his son W. John Patton, and his brother, David Patton

In keeping with Jim's wishes, a private service for family, will be held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.

Burial will be alongside his wife at Graceland Cemetery.
