James H. Pizor, age 82 of New Castle, passed away the evening of June 17, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born June 7, 1942, in Butler, PA, he was the son of the late Harrison and Jane Pizor.

In December of 2021, he was preceded in death by his wife, Scharlene L. (Rhodes) Pizor.

In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his son, Ronald J. Pizor.

James worked as the head mechanic for Mack Garage for several years. He then went onto work for PennDOT, as head mechanic, until his retirement. James enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and restoring tractors.

Survivors include his favorite grandson, Mark J. Pizor of New Castle, PA; daughter-in-law, Veronica Pizor of New Castle, PA; and one brother, Tom Pizor, of Butler, PA.

Visitation will be held on Thurs. June 20th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Friday June 21st from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation, on Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frederick H. Gilbert, of Independent Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Hermon Cemetery, alongside his wife and son.
