James D. Quinn, 78, of 18 S. Scotland Lane, New Castle, died the morning of June 28, 2010 at his residence.Born May 31, 1932 in New Castle, he was a son of Charles and Mary Book Quinn. He married Marie Smith on November 30, 1953. She survives in New Castle.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.James was employed by the Youngstown Sheet and Tube where he worked for twenty seven years.He was involved with the Union Little League, Pop Warner football, American Legion baseball and was an avid golfer. James was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.In addition to his wife, he will be greatly missed by his family of four sons and three daughters-in-law; Donald and Linda Quinn of Enon Valley, James and Faye Quinn, Charles and Shari Quinn and Michael Quinn all of New Castle; one brother, Patrick Quinn of Poutney, VT; one sister, Patricia Quinn of Poland, OH; six grandchildren, Kiley and Doug Fisher, Brooke Quinn, Lindsay Quinn, Ashley Quinn, Gina Lagabe and Mia Martie; eight great grandchildren, Skylar Fisher, Kaden Fisher, Irelyn Fisher, Isabella Connelly, Jordyn Kelley, Tyler Martie, Owen Lagabe, Olivia Lagabe.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Theodore Quinn.To fulfill his wishes there will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
