James W. Smith, 80, of New Castle passed away the evening of February 24, 2016 at Jameson Hospital. Born July 8, 1935 in New Castle, he was the son of Walter and Ruth Smith. James was a 1955 graduate of New Castle High School. He was employed with Jameson Hospital and Flowline Corporation. He was of Protestant faith. James was an avid fan of all Westminster College Athletic Teams. He is survived by one son, Rodger Smith of Pompano Beach, Florida; one daughter April Mastropietro of New Castle; five grandchildren, Nikki Kimes of Sandy Lake, Rachelle Newton of West Middlesex, Joey Mastropietro of New Castle, Courtney O'Rourke of Hermitage, and Ashleigh Smith of Green, New York; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Francis; and two brothers, David and Donald Smith. In keeping with the wishes of James, there will be no services.
