James Marion Swisher, Jr., born May 24, 1944 in New Castle, PA died of natural causes on January 25, 2018 in Southfield, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Marion Swisher and Myra Thomas Swisher formerly of New Castle. Mr. Swisher is survived by three children; Benjamin James Swisher of Troy Michigan, Heidi King (Swisher) Piediscalzi stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany, and Clayton Edward Swisher currently living in Doha, Qatar. He is also survived by five grandchildren. Mr. Swisher was a 1962 graduate of New Castle High School. He graduated from Youngstown University and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Mr. Swisher was a 32nd degree Mason as well a member of the Elks Fraternal order. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7p.m. Monday, January 29 at the R.Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
