Obituary

James Omar Wetzel, 76, of New Castle passed away the morning of Sunday, June, 2, 2013, at his daughter's residence. James was born March, 28, 1937, in Volant, Pa. the son of Samuel and Laura Ruth Miller Wetzel. He married Nancy Jordan on June, 25, 1960, she survives. James attended Eastbrook High SchoolHe was employed as an equipment operator for both Lindy and B & L paving companies. He enjoyed playing cards, attended the Daytona 500 many times and loved the Cleveland Browns. Jim was a member of the Operators Union Local #66, the Tow W. Jagielly Club, The CG's cultural German club and a lifetime member of the Johnson Club. In addition to his wife, James is survived by two daughters, Kim Long and Michelle Wetzel, both of New Castle; three sons Richard Wetzel of New Castle, Mark (Bonnie) Wetzel of Pulaski and Samuel (Kimberly) Wetzel of New Castle; one brother, Robert Dale Wetzel of Pulaski; three sisters, Reba Allen and Donna Jean Buchowski. both of Volant, and Martha Murincsak of Pulaski; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Daniel Wetzel; and three brothers, William, Samuel "Norv", and Harold Wetzel. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. William McGary officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
