James Henry Wilson passed away at 93, on March 2, 2023, peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

Jim was the son of Elsie Robinson Wilson and John Wilson. He had three half siblings and six siblings. Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952, as an engine mechanic in the Marine All Weather Fighter Squadron. He was discharged honorably as a Sergeant. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen Stanley Wilson, his three daughters, Sharon (Mike) Marcantino of Dillsburg PA, Victoria Trott of New Castle, PA and Brenda Wood of Crownsville, MD, his eight grandchildren, Annemarie Marcantino Reck, Ashley Marcantino Greathouse, James Trott, Caitlyn Trott, Jenna Trott Beckman, Andrew Trott, Spencer Wood and Henry "Wils" Wood and ten great grandchildren.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by so many- as a gentle, kind, open, and giving individual, with a peaceful spirit. He was devoted to his wife Helen and his family. He was a long term employee of YDC, working as an electrician. In his younger days he enjoyed playing guitar and singing with his friends in a country western ad hoc band. He taught many people to play the guitar.

We celebrate his life as one well lived, as an individual always willing to lend a hand, with a kind and gentle nature.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 5, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle PA.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation Sunday at 4:00 with the Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites.

Jim will be buried in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville PA.
