Obituary

James A. Young, 81, of Pulaski, Pa., passed away the afternoon of July 12, 2015 at his residence. Born October 7, 1933 in New Castle, he was a son of John and Ida Downing Young. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Donna Young, whom he married September 24, 1955. James attended Union High School. He is veteran of the United States Navy. He attended the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church. James was employed for 31 years at B & W Steel Mill and retired in 1988. Among his many interests, he was an avid landscaper. He was a regular attender of Challenges. He enjoyed meeting at McDonalds for breakfast with friends. James is survived by one daughter, Linda Friday of Lancaster, Pa., two granddaughters, Madison Smith of Harrisburg, Pa., Sydney Friday of Columbia, Pa.; one brother, John Young of Phoenix, AZ.; two aunts, Irene and Peggy Downing both of New Castle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Young Konchek; and sister, Ida Belle Beadle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church, 229 South Market Street, New Wilmington, Pa. 16142., with the Rev. Lisa Hickman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society, 628 Pearson Mill Road, New Castle, Pa. 16101.
