Jane A. Johnson, 87, of New Castle, passed away the night of October 25, 2024, at the Haven Convalescent Home.
Born February 6, 1937, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Paul and Frances (Myers) Bees.
Jane was preceded in death on November 2, 2000, by her beloved husband of 43 years, Robert L. Johnson, whom she married March 17, 1957.
A graduate of New Castle High School, she went on to receive her nursing degree from Akron General Hospital Nursing School. She was employed with Jameson Memorial Hospital for over 30 years where she was an operating room nurse until her retirement.
A member of Eastern Star and Wimodausis, she was also a leader with Rainbow Girls and Girl Scouts. After her retirement, Jane enjoyed traveling and being a missionary volunteer.
She loved being involved with her church, Northminister Presbyterian Church, where she and Bob were married.
Jane is survived by two daughters, Pam Bartoshek of New Castle and Amy (Randy) McGuire of Georgetown, KY; one son, Eric (Grace) Johnson of Harlansburg; eight grandchildren, Anna (Craig) Clawson, Stuart (Rosie) Bartoshek, Travis McGuire, Matthew McGuire, Emily McGuire, Shelby Osburn, Sydney Osburn and Xander Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Michael Stewart, Leon Bartoshek and Ellie Clawson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruthie Bees and Joanne Rapson; one brother, Richard Bees; and a great-grandson, Max Clawson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, from 10:00-12:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A Memorial Service will take place immediately following visitation at 12:00 noon on Friday with Rev. Jordan Rimmer officiating.
