Jane Bryan Lynch, 94, formerly of Independence Lane, passed away the evening of December 29, 2012 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born October 1, 1918, in New Castle, she was a daughter of J. Elder and Ruth Callahan Bryan. She was preceded in death in September, 1965, by her husband, Jerome F. Lynch, whom she married in March, 1951. She served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. Jane studied music at Bethany College. She was a piano teacher most of her life, teaching piano to generations of people. Because of her love for music, she enjoyed attending operas, the ballet, plays, and was a member of the New Castle Music Club. She also liked ice skating and was a member of the New Castle Historical Society. Jane played the piano and organ for Shenango Presbyterian Church where she was a member. She also played for several other churches in New Castle. She is survived by one daughter, Michele Lynch of Raleigh, NC; a daughter-in-law, Diane Wohlgemuth Lynch of New Castle; and two grandsons, Derek Lynch and David Lynch of New Castle. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Lynch; two sisters, Rebecca Louise Bryan and Ruth Anne Bryan; and one brother, J. Elder Bryan,II. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Amy Na will officiate. Full military rites will be given by the New Castle Area Honor Guard. Burial will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, CA.
