Jane K. VanDusen, age 96, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of Oct. 13, 2022, at Vitalia Senior Residence, in Strongsville, Ohio.

Born Feb. 11, 1926, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Beighley) Dietterle.

On Aug. 27, 1947, she married her beloved husband of 71 years, Edward L. VanDusen. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2019.

Jane was a graduate of New Castle High School. She went on to attend Penn State University for two years. Jane worked in the department of Public Assistance for 5 years. While raising her children she received her education degree from Youngstown State University. She then became a teacher for the New Castle Area Schools, retiring after 25 years of employment. Jane was a volunteer at Jameson Hospital. She loved traveling around the world and returning home to plan the next trip. She was an active member of the Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Tri-M class. She spent her final years living near her daughter, Sue Ellen.

Jane is survived by her children, two daughters, Kathy (Steven) Young of Williamsburg, VA, and Sue Ellen (Douglas) Imhoff of Cleveland, Ohio; one son, David (Linda) VanDusen of Sunrise, Florida; 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, services will be private, and burial will be at a later date.
