Janet Rosaltha Davis, age 88, passed away the afternoon of March 5, 2025, at Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington, PA.

Born February 10, 1937, in New Castle, she was the daughter of William and Gertrude (Fullerton) Davis. A lifetime resident of Mt. Jackson, she lived on the family farm of her great- great -grandparents.

After her high school graduation from Mt. Jackson High School, she attended Youngstown University, receiving a BS degree in Home Economic Education followed by her master's degree from Ohio State University.

She spent her career teaching at Shenango High School in New Castle until her retirement.

Janet held membership with the Pennsylvania State Education Association, Jameson Hospital Junior Guild and the Lawrence County Family and Consumer Science Association. She was an active member of Westfield Presbyterian Church where she served on the Board of Trustees and was a deacon and ruling elder.

In addition to gardening, needlework and playing cards, she had an appreciation for antiques. She loved to travel and would often tell of the trips, especially to Europe, Africa and a motor home trip through Alaska.

She is survived by her sister, Gwendolyn Allen and her husband the Rev. Dr. William B. Allen, of Vienna, WV; one nephew, the Rev. Dr. Thaddaeus B. Allen and his wife, Jennifer, of Vienna, WV; two nieces, Julia Allen Sanders and husband J. Michael Sanders, of Dallas, TX and Amanda Allen Feitt and her husband Theodore Feitt, of McMurray, PA; great- nieces, Kaylie and Haddae Allen and Theresa and Miriam Feitt; great- nephews, Matthias and Joseph Feitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great -niece, Madison Allen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, from 4:00-7:00 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA.

There will be a one-hour visitation on Saturday, March 8, from 11:00-12:00 at Westfield Presbyterian Church, 1363 Mt. Jackson Road, New Castle, followed by a funeral service at 12:00. the Rev. Dr. Thaddaeus B. Allen and the Rev. Dr. Bobby Griffith will officiate.

Burial will be in Westfield Presbyterian Cemetery.
