Janice A. O'Donnell, age 78, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away Friday afternoon, August 1, 2025, at the Mapleview Country Villa, in Chardon, Ohio.

Born December 16, 1946, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerald R. and Mary E. (Body) Mooney.

Jan was a 1964 graduate of Neshannock High School, then graduated from Malone University in 1968 with a bachelor's degree, majoring in English. For 16 years, Jan worked as administrative assistant to the Director of Sales at Longaberger Baskets in Lordstown, Ohio. She then went on to work as administrative assistant to the Dean at Kent State University Trumbull Campus before her retirement in 2014.

Jan was very active in the Braceville United Methodist Church, including leading the youth group on multiple humanitarian mission trips to Appalachia and serving as a Sunday school teacher for more than 10 years. More recently, she was a member of Warren First Church of the Nazarene. She will always be remembered as a loving mother who shouldered the burden to raise her sons, always with patience, an infectious smile, and a generous nature.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Tyson Brunstetter (Laura) and Corey Brunstetter (Lesley); two sisters, Deborah Davis and Pamela Butterworth; and five grandchildren, Bayden Brunstetter, Elle Brunstetter, Arden Brunstetter, Josephine Brunstetter, and Victoria Brunstetter.

In addition to her parents, Jan is preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Mooney, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Brian Daniels officiating.

Burial will be at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
