Jason Aaron Hager, 41, born September 11, 1980, passed away peacefully at his home on April 9, 2022, in Zelienople, PA.
He graduated from Edinboro University with a bachelor's degree in fine arts for Applied Media Arts and Graphic Design.
He was an accomplished artist and photographer throughout his life and career. He established his own business titled Available Light Photography. Through his lens, he captured moments of beauty, action and amazement. His clients have described him as a genius, visionary, inspirational, soulful, skilled, industrious, a collaborator and most importantly, a true artist.
Art defined Jason from a young age. His talent started the moment a crayon was placed in his hand. Comics became his first inspiration and from there, drawing, printmaking, lithographs, wire structures, and his biggest passion, photography and filmography. He saw the world deeper than the naked eye could capture. For his clients who became his friends, we thank you for your praise, support and admiration for who Jason wanted to be.
As a true testament to his love for all things feline, we ask that any donations be made in his name to the Butler County Humane Society, as his source for happiness was spent with his animals. A cat whisperer by nature, he rescued and loved his closest companions.
Jason is survived by his parents, Charles and Deborah and his brother, Charles "Scooter" and a sister, Abigail.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Charles A. and Mary Hager; maternal grandparents, Henry and Jessie Karki; and one sister, Joan Marie Shields.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 13, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, April 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Owen officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
