Obituary

Jazmyn R. Keller, age 12, of Neshannock Twp., passed away unexpectedly the morning of July 11, 2019, at her residence. Born August 17, 2006, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Andrew L. Keller and the late Melanie (Gwin) Keller. Jazmyn would have entered the 7th grade at Neshannock Township School District where she was always ready to lend a helping hand and be a friend to those in need. She was very involved in the music program where she played the clarinet & piano. When she wasn't playing her instruments, she loved teaching her fellow classmates and helping them to improve their art. She loved staying active by playing softball, basketball, flag football and swimming. Jazmyn was always motivating and encouraging her teammates to hit home runs, score touchdowns and swim faster. However, winning and losing wasn't her priority, she promoted sportsmanship and made certain all players felt valued, never allowing a loss to dampen her team's spirit. Often times, after a loss, Jazmyn would suggest that an ice cream cone may be the best way to forget about the loss. Jazmyn also loved crafting, crocheting and beating the boys in track and field. If Jazmyn wasn't on the field or in the music room, you could find her impacting the community with her fellow Girl Scouts, AWANA organization and as a member of Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church. Inspirational, compassionate, funny are only a few words to describe Jazmyn's personality and love. Jazmyn lived life to the fullest, whether it was spending time with her countless friends and family or styling her hair to fit every occasion. Her compassion extended to both people and animals as she often took time to nurture cats throughout the neighborhood. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Jazmyn, immediately understood the positive influence and lasting impact she had on others. Along with her father, Andrew L. Keller, Jazmyn is survived by her paternal grandparents, Alvin Lester Keller and Rosalie (Stallone) Keller of New Castle, PA; maternal grandmother, Claudia Johnston of West Pittsburg, PA; Uncle Jake and Aunt Jenny Spor of New Castle; her best friend and cousin, whom was like a sister to her, Catherine "Cat-Cat" Spor of New Castle; and a half-brother, Jeremy Gibson of Beaver Falls and endless friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, from 2:00-6:00pm, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will follow immediately at 6:00pm, with Pastor John Fraser, of Maitland Lane Free Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be at Volant Cemetery in Volant, PA. On Wednesday at 2:00 PM, a memorial celebration dinner, to celebrate Jazmyn's love, will be held at the Elks Club 410 S. Cascade Street, New Castle, Pa. 16101, for anyone who knew her or hadn't had the pleasure of meeting her. Please join us to celebrate the love that Jazmyn lived out, each and everyday.
