Jean Ann Barber, age 86, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of November 25, 2024, at her home.

Born June 3, 1938, in Leetonia, Ohio, she was the daughter of James and Edith (Grocutt) Kerr.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Richard "Dick" Barber, whom she married September 11, 2011.

Jean was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School where she was known as one of the "Chicks of '56". She was employed for 20 years with Fisher's Big Wheel where she was a salesclerk.

Among her many interests, Jean enjoyed painting, bird watching and feeding the deer. She mostly enjoyed her family and being a part of their family gatherings. She attended First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Susan Christine Quimby of New Castle and Beth Ann (Jerry) Krlich of Hubard, OH; one son, Scott T. (Diane) McGaffic of New Castle; two brothers, Donald (Darlene) Kerr of Royal Center, IN and Robert Kerr of Westminster, MD; eight grandchildren, Nicole Haggerty, Alec, Emily and Julianna McGaffic, Katie, Calvin, Caleb and Collin Krlich; and five great-grandchildren, Mairan, Finn and Callen Haggerty, and Nathan and Eleanor McGaffic.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, Howard George Slemons and Darrell Thomas McGaffic.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wells and Rev. John Yergan officiating.

Burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
