Jean E. Berkheimer, 82, of Ellwood City, passed away the morning of September 26, 2010 at the Northview Estates.Jean was born on January 22, 1928, in New Castle, to the late Scott and Margaret Sproul Baker. She married Louis Berkheimer on Oct. 14, 1950. He survives. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this Oct. 14.Mrs. Berkheimer was primarily a homemaker and helped her husband open the first Baskin Robbin's Ice Cream store, formerly located on Wilmington Rd. Jean was of the Lutheran faith.In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Gretchen Brown and her husband, Harold of Portersville; one son, Louis Berkheimer and his wife Jaci of Lisbin, OH; three brothers, Frank Baker and Robert Baker of New Castle, and Jack Baker of Hermitage, PA; 3 grandchildren, Amy L. Arrigo, Laurie Beth Tomak, and Steven M. Brown; 2 step grandchildren, Shon Lewis and Angi Lewis; and seven great grandchildren, Alexander Tomak, Kathryn E. Tomak, Tanner Tomak, Emma Jean Arrigo, Maggie Arrigo, Will Lewis and Shane Lewis.Mrs. Berkheimer was preceded in death by her parents; one bother, Jimmy Baker and one sister, Agnes Currie.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, September 29, 2010, from 10-11 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Nero will officiate.
