Jean Ann Doran, 79, of 1029 W. Moffatt Road, New Castle, died the afternoon of May 31, 2010 at her residence.Born April 27, 1931 in Sharon, PA, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary "Mae" Rielly Snyderwine. She married William L. Doran on September 4, 1954. He survives in New Castle.Jean was a 1950 graduate of Sharon High School and graduated from New Castle School of Nursing in 1953.She was employed as a nurse at Jameson Hospital and spent the last fifteen years with the Visiting Nurse Association, retiring in 1989.Jean was a member of the East Brook chapter of TOPS. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.She was a member of St. Camillus Church.In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Colleen S. and Dr. Thomas Layton of Hermitage; a daughter-in-law, Deanne Doran of Princeton; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Douglas M. and Karen Doran of Slippery Rock, Timothy S. and Christine Doran of New Castle, and Michael T. and Hope Doran of Portersville; two brothers, Robert and Theodore Snyderwine both of Sharon, PA; and seven grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Doran.A private blessing service will be held at the convenience of the family. Rev. Father Thomas Lewandowski will officiate.
