Obituary

Jean Pamela Harris, died peacefully on February 10, 2021 in Portland, OR at her daughter's home. She was born March 16, 1924 to John and Hilda Pawley in High Wycombe, England where she married New Castle Army veteran, David Harris, on March 9, 1946. Jean enjoyed reading, knitting and crafts, word puzzles and traveling to see family and friends in the United States and England. She never totally lost her English accent or love of British food, collectibles, and news of the Queen/Royal Family. She was a member of Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church. Jean is survived by two daughters Susan (Gordon) Weigle, of Rockford, IL and Janet (Michael) Fierst, of Portland, OR; her grandchildren Joanne (Rick) Arroy, Alan (Melanie Standifer) Weigle, Steven Weigle, Bryan (Jenny Crowell) Fierst and Bridget Fierst; her great-grandchildren Mikayla (Daniel) Wilson, Forrest Arroy, David Weigle, James Murray, Colin Standifer, and Jesse Fierst; and her great- great granddaughter Reign Wilson; and several nieces and nephews in the United States and in England. In addition to her parents and loving husband David, Jean was preceded in death by her son, David John, infant daughter, Barbara Ann; her siblings John Pawley, Beryl Thomas, and Rex Pawley; and a sister-in-law Marjorie Harris Dougherty. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Celebration of Life will be planned for this summer.
