Jean E. Kemmerer, 95, of New Castle passed away July 26, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born December 4, 1921 in Glassport, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Hengust and Florence Auslander Robinson. She married Alvin E. Kemmerer on November 1, 1944 whom preceded her in death on February 2, 1980. Jean was member of the 42nd Rainbow Division Veterans Auxiliary and served as the National President from 1981-82. She enjoyed sewing and reading. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara (Roger) Kostley, Catherine Scorzelli, Dorothy (John) Koppel, and Arlene (Bradley) Jones; one sister-in-law, Jean Robinson; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, Helen Robinson, Lillian Robinson, Thelma Mountain, and one brother, Hengust Robinson Jr. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:008:00 pm at R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas E. Johnson officiating. A private burial will take place in Plum Creek Cemetery in Pittsburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 135 Decker Drive, New Castle, PA 16105.
