Jean Anne Shreffler, 74 of New Castle passed away on November 23, 2023 at Quality of Life Services in Grove City, PA.

Born on October 22, 1949 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Harry F. and Joan (Thompson) Whitman.

She earned her Bachelors in Library Science and was a librarian at Butler Institute of American Art for over 20 years. Prior to that she was a librarian at New Castle Public Library for over 20 years.

She is survived by her son, Allen (Nain) Shreffler, of New Castle and one grandchild, Michaela Huchzermeier of New York.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lawrence A. Whitman.

In keeping with Jean's wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
