Joan A. Rowland, 90 of New Castle, PA passed away August 28, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. Born on May 17, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA she was a daughter of the late Fred M. and Grace (Moore) Alexander. Joan married Paul L. Rowland, Jr. on June 25, 1949. They were married for 65 years. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2014. She was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, a 65 year member of P.E.O. Chapter A, member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was Mother Advisor and served on the board of W. Mark Sexton Chapter of Rainbow for Girls. Joan is survived by her four children; Sandra Genkinger of New Castle, PA, Paula (Bruce) Nolan of Mechanicsburg, PA, Susan (Tim) Grieve of Dallas, TX and Dr. Paul (Jill) Rowland, III o f Pittsburgh, PA, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dr. Jerry H. Alexander of Fort Worth, TX. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jason D. Hilton, Jr. and a sister, Joyce A. Fletcher. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Castle View Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the R.
