Joanne S. McClintock, 89, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of March 28, 2019 at Shenango-on-the-Green in New Wilmington. Born July 4, 1929 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Emery and Maude (Clark) Swogger. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert McClintock, whom she married on August 13, 1949. A 1948 graduate of New Castle High School, Joanne was employed as an operator with Bell Telephone and was a homemaker. She had several interests, including quilting, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She loved music, dance and especially her dogs. Joanne was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Shenango Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Scott (Linda) McClintock of Mantua, Ohio; three grandchildren, Joshua, Kirstin and Nathan; and four great-grandchildren, Niall, Carrick, Suvi and Leathan. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bruce Edward McClintock; one brother, Emery Swogger; and one sister, Jeanne Wilkison. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, from 2:00-4:00pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Monday at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
