Obituary

Jodi Bigley Rodgers Tyler, age 60, of New Castle, passed away the evening of April 4, 2021 at her residence, after a courageous battle with ALS – Lou Gehrigs disease. Born Aug. 14, 1960, in New Castle, she was the daughter of John and Rosemarie 'Rosie' (Murphy) Bigley. On July 7, 1992, she married her husband of 28 years, Todd Tyler. He survives at home. Jodi was a graduate of Laurel High School. After graduation, she went on to earn her certification to become a certified phlebotomist. She worked for 30 years at UPMC Jameson Hospital, as a phlebotomist. Among some of her many interest, Jodi loved the beach, to travel and spending time with her family, especially with her three grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Jodi is survived by two sons, Bryan (Amanda) Rodgers and Bill (Lisa) Rodgers, all of New Castle; three brothers, Marty (Lisa) Bigley of Indianapolis, IN, John (Donna) Bigley of Lake Norman, NC, Gary (Patti) Bigley of Goldsboro, NC; and three grandchildren, Brianna, Adelyn and Christian Rodgers. Jodi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hilary (Margaret) Murphy. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Memorial contributions may be made to www.als.org.
