Joseph R. Parco, 83, of East Hazelcroft Avenue, passed away the night of April 24, 2016 at Jameson Care Center. Born January 23, 1933 in New Castle, he was the son of John and Mary Champ Parco. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Phyllis Livingston Parco, whom he married May 20, 1954. Mr. Parco served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the co-owner of Prothero & Parco Interior Design located in New Castle. Joseph was very active in the community, serving on the boards of Jameson Hospital, the Salvation Army, and the Crippled Children's Foundation. He was a member of the New Castle Country Club and enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Curt) Ayers and Meribeth (Benn) Aaronson, both of Florida; one brother, John Parco of Florida; one sister, Jean Stewart of New Castle; and one granddaughter, Sophia Ayers. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ralph Parco; and two sisters, Shirley Bishop and Rose Matteo. A one hour visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00-12:00 at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, 220 Clen-Moore Blvd., New Castle. A memorial service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 12:00 with the Rev. Chris Weichman officiating.
