John A. Bintrim, 64, of Barbara's Lane, New Castle, passed away the morning of July 14, 2015 at his residence. Born June 7, 1951 in New Castle, he was the son of Ernest R. and Jean Smith Bintrim. He is survived by his previous wife, Patti Yoho Bintrim of New Castle.
John graduated from Shenango High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Navy's Anti-Sub Squadron 31 during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, and retired in 2013.
John is survived by one daughter, Kiley (Josh) Perdue Cauvel of Pittsburgh, Pa., one son, Justin Bintrim of Washington, DC., two sisters, Amy McCormick of New Castle, Myra Sickafuse of Pulaski, Pa., and 2 grandchildren, Juliet and Piper Cauvel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Daniel Bintrim.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18th from 10 to 11 A.M at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road. A memorial service will take place immediately following visitation at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Julia Williamson officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
