John R. Buonpane, Sr., age 85, of Greenville, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of Jan. 05, 2021, at The Grove in Greenville, PA. Born Nov. 17, 1935, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Guerino A. and Rose (Pavia) Buonpane. On August 23, 1958, he married his wife of 52 years, Nancy Ann (Wyman) Buonpane. She preceded him in death on Dec. 04, 2010. Mr. Buonpane was a graduate of New Castle High School. He enlisted in the United States Marines, faithfully serving his county, as a corporal, in Korea. John worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier retiring in 1992, after 35 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a member of the Eagles Club and of St. Vitus Church. John is survived by his daughter, Marilee (Robert) Taylor of Otsego, MN; his son, John R. (Terri) Buonpane, Jr., of Sandy Lake, PA; one sister, Phyllis Warren, of New Castle, PA; eight grandchildren, five locally in PA, as well as James (Amanda) Daly, Robert (Ashlee) Taylor, Jr. and Michael (Ronette) Taylor all of MN and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy and one sister, Barbara Baker. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. There will be a private mass of Christian Burial at St. Vitus Church. Burial will be at St. Vitus Cemetery, alongside his wife. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
