John Edward Catterson, 80, of New Wilmington passed away the morning of May 19, 2020, at Sharon Regional Hospital.
Born at home in Neshannock Township March 28, 1940, he was the son of Clair V. and Helen (Kirk) Catterson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth J. (Earl) Catterson, whom he married September 22, 1962.
A New Castle High School graduate, John attended Youngstown State University and the Pittsburgh Art Institute, receiving his Paralegal certification with ITT Technical Institute.
John served his country in the US Army during the Berlin Crisis as a PFC. He was employed with Rockwell International as a quality control inspector. John was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church where he served as a former elder.
Among his interests, he enjoyed making and fixing clocks and was a talented artist and carpenter. John always stated, 'Family is everything' and treasured the times spent with his family the most.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John Catterson of Sharpsville and Shawn Catterson of Frederick, Maryland; two daughters, Sue Ellen (Andrew) Patton and Jennifer (Andy) Hough all of New Wilmington; one brother, Clair (Dian) Catterson of Virginia; two sisters, Donna Robinson of New Castle and Linda Brenner of Boardman, OH; former daughter-in-law Debra D'Acenzo Catterson; 6 grandchildren, Patrick Catterson, Sean Catterson, Jack Patton, David Patton, Alex Hough and Ben 'Connor' Hough; and 2 great-grandchildren, Adeline Catterson and Gunner Catterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Ronald Robinson and David Brenner.
Respecting John's wishes there will be no services at this time.
