John T. Forrest, 71, of New Wilmington, PA., formerly of New Castle, departed this life on March 22, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents, Edna and John W. Forrest; and his sister, Marion Matthews Schreiner. He is survived by a stepson, Patrick Mitcheltree; his sister, Jane (Ernie) Mackey; nephews, Herb (Carol) Matthews, Gary (Michele) Matthews, and Roger (Shannon) Mackey, also a good friend, Nancy Bechtel. He was a graduate of Neshannock High School. He retired from the NewCastle Company and enjoyed woodworking. The family would like to thank all the nurses and workers at the Overlook Health and Rehab Center for their kind and compassionate care. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, where a memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Jodie Barron Smith will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
