John V. Fullerton, Jr., 73, of Union Township, passed away the night of December 9, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born April 1, 1944 in Long Beach, California, he was the son of John V. Fullerton, Sr. and Agnes Stephens Fullerton.
After his graduation from Chartiers Valley High School in 1962 he attended the University of Pittsburgh.
John was the owner of Shop & Save Grocery Store in New Castle from 1982-1988 until his employment with Biotest in Youngstown Ohio where he was the General Manager until his retirement in 2010.
An avid fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams, he enjoyed the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. He also liked golfing, playing darts and shooting pool. John loved old cars, especially his Corvette which he took to many car shows and the Back-to-the-Fifties weekend.
He was a member of the 32nd Degree Masons, the New Castle Consistory and the Elks Club #69. John attended St. Vincent de Paul.
He is survived by one daughter, Lynn Marie (Patrick M.) DeVaughn of Wilmington, DE; one son, John V. (Melissa) Fullerton, III of Green Lane, PA; one brother, Patrick Fullerton of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Janice Fullerton of Gainesville, VA, Kathleen Powers of Springfield, VA, and Karen Fullerton of Bothell, WA; and two grandsons, Brett Fullerton and Chase Fullerton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Fullerton.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A Blessing Service will take place immediately following visitation Friday at 8:00 pm at the funeral home with Father Zach Galiyas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society, ASPCA, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
