John F. Hall, Jr., age 57, of New Castle, passed away suddenly July 31, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. John committed his life to Christ at an early age and is now rejoicing in Heaven.
Born June 6, 1960 in New Castle, he was the son of John F. Hall, Sr. and Thelma Hilyard Hall.
Surviving at home is his wife of 27 years, Miriam Thomas Hall, whom he married on May 12, 1990.
A 1978 graduate of New Castle High School, John was employed as a plant worker with Berner International.
He was an Eagle Scout and served as a football official for 36 years and a track official for 20 years and enjoyed bowling and golf. John was gifted as a helper to anyone who asked.
An active member of First Alliance Church, John served as a Deacon and Head Usher.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother Thelma; a brother, Tim (Tammy) Hall of New Castle; one sister, Janie (James) Tusar of Poland, Ohio; his mother-in-law Virginia Thomas of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Linda (Glenn) Wilson of Lanzhou, China; and loved being an uncle to his three nephews, Timmy Hall, Noah Hall and Jacob Hall; and will be missed by his two loving cats, Ginger and Abigail.
John was preceded in death by his father and his father-in-law, Wendell Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-7:00pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road and on Saturday from 10:00-11:00am at First Alliance Church, 111 Mission Meade Drive.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00am at the church with the Rev. Philip Harrison officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
