John H. Leslie, age 88, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Sept. 25, 2023, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born May 28, 1935, in New Castle, he was the son to the late Howard and Della (Houk) Leslie.

For 61 years, he was married to his beloved wife, Marlene (Braatz) Leslie. She survives at home.

Mr. Leslie was a graduate of Princeton High School. He was a member of the United States Army, where he faithfully served his country in Korea. For 35 years, John was employed by Penn Power working as a System Operator, until his retirement. In his free time, John was a Mason and Past Master of the New Castle Consistory in 1972 and enjoyed farming. John was former member of the Second United Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon, and more recently he was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Jill (Eugene) Razzano of New Castle, PA; one son, Robert Leslie (Kimberley Cheshire) of Cortland, OH; one brother, James Leslie of New Castle; and one grandson, Benjamin Razzano.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one brother, William Leslie and one sister, Marybelle Tindall.

Visitation will be held on Sat. Sept. 30th from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately after visitation at the funeral home, at 5:00 PM, with the Dr. Rev. Jordan Rimmer, officiating.
