John James "Jim" Richardson, Jr., 75, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of April 18, 2023, at his residence in Union Township.

Born April 21, 1947, in New Castle, he was the son of John James Richardson, Sr. and Doris (Stoner) Richardson. They preceded him in death.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carla (Shaffer) Richardson, whom he married May 10, 1969.

A graduate of New Castle High School, he went on to serve his country in the US Navy. He was employed with Penn Power for thirty years until his retirement.

Among his many interests, Jim enjoyed going to the lake as well as frequenting flea markets, always on the look out for a good bargain. Most important to him was his family and times spent together.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David James (Michelle) Richardson of Florida and Timothy Charles (Jennifer) Richardson of Maryland; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, from 11:00-1:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 1:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating.

Jim will be laid to rest in Graceland Cemetery.
