John Dale Rung,80, of New Castle, passed away the morning of February 1, 2015 at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, PA. Born September 16, 1934 in New Castle, he was the son of John and Lillian Crouch Rung. He is survived by his wife, Sally A. Downing Rung. John attended East Brook High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sergeant. A 34 year employee of AT&T, he retired as a microwave technician. John was a member of the Castle Pistol Club as well as the Castle Rod & Gun Club. Among his interests were hunting, boating, and skeet shooting. John also enjoyed restoring antique cars. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John D. (Joyce) Rung, and Dana (Amy) Rung of New Castle; three sisters, Joan Richards of New Castle, Roberta Morris of Portersville, PA, and Vicky Coan of Costa Rica; and three grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the R.
