John C. Seamans, age 87, of New Castle, passed away August 8, 2024, at his home.

Born September 23, 1936, in Edinburg, PA, he was the son of John and Mary (Salzman) Seamans.

John is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Choi Seamans, whom he married September 17, 1960.

A graduate of Union High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Ohio Edison in Niles, Ohio after 35 years of service.

John loved working in his garden and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending and watching their sporting events. He was also an avid Pirates and Steelers fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Patton of New Castle; one son, Wayne (Diane) Seamans of New Castle. He was "Pap" to four grandchildren; Kylee (Jake) Buls of Pittsburgh, Ashlee (William) Purcell of Edinburg, Wayne (Haley) Seamans of New Castle and Sarah Seamans of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Kenna Purcell and Maddox Ferrari; three sisters, Betsy Reynolds of Detroit, Michigan, Joy (Jeff) Berquist of Sandusky, Ohio and Nancy (Bruce) Haverkamp of Cincinnati, Ohio; and one sister-in-law, Kay Seamans of New Wilmington, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Kenneth Seamans, David Seamans and Daniel Seamans; and a son-in-law, W. John Patton.

In keeping with John's wishes, there will be no services.
