John C. Stalnecker, 71, of Hickory Township, passed away the morning of September 14, 2021, at his residence. Born September 24, 1949, in New Castle, he was the son of John A. and Mary Jane (McKissick) Stalnecker. John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann (Cage) Stalnecker, whom he married August 5, 1971. A graduate of Shenango High School, John served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Air Force as a radar technician. He retired from Advance Feedscrews where he worked as a machinist. In addition to being an avid Steeler's fan, John was an outdoors enthusiast including fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing and gaming, and especially spending time with his family on weekend cookouts. Besides his wife Ann, he is survived by one daughter, Carrie Stalnecker of Portersville; two sons, Martin (Susan) Stalnecker and Darren Stalnecker both of New Castle; five sisters, Noreen Gallo, Georgeann (Jack) Gall, Becky George, Marti Lynn Robinson and Linda Orzechowski; one brother, Jerry Stalnecker; and five grandchildren, Lea Brown, Sydney, Benjamin, Joey and Jack Stalnecker. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-7:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Jordan Rimmer officiating.
