Joseph H. Boak, age 76, of New Castle, PA, passed the evening of May 24, 2024, at his residence.

Born April 27, 1948, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late James E. and Loise Ellen (Smith) Boak.

On May 6, 1978, he married his beloved wife of 46 years, Carol (Conti) Boak. She survives at home.

Mr. Boak was a graduate of Laurel High School. He faithfully and bravely served is country in the United States Army, in which he was awarded the prestigious, Purple Heart.

For 34 years he worked in the coal yard, employed by Penn Power. Joe was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He loved riding his side by side on the family farm and spending time in his garage with his friends. Joe loved watching the History Channel and NCIS. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks Club and Croton Dukes Club.

In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by one daughter, Terra Boak of New Castle, PA; brothers-in-law, Dale McCormick and Frank Conti; nieces, Kimberly (Paul) Ritchie and Rachelle Harrison; and nephew Ryan Boak; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents Joe was preceded in death by one brother, Richard 'Dick' Boak, one sisters Harriet McCormick, and two nephews, James McCormick and Richie Boak.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
